Senior Designer

Description:	We are currently looking to fill two Senior Designer positions. Both will design hardcover and paperback book covers. One for the Viking/Penguin imprints, and the other for the Putnam/Perigee/Avery imprints. These roles offer a great chance to be highly creative and to work on both fiction and nonfiction titles in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Specific responsibilities include: 1. Designs original art covers/jackets 2. Creates pre-press files for print 3. Works with illustrators, photographers, outside designers, and photo stock houses 4. Photo/illustrator research, as well as researching competitive book covers 5. Follows up to refine and finish jackets for final proofing
Requirements:	• Minimum 4 years prior design experience, preferably with experience creating book jackets • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Excellent verbal and written communication • Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills • Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office
